Brainwash 03:55
Brainwash My time awake is fading in to the past I’m real late, I’m in to getting harassed. So many buckles and wraps and straps, Put it on, take it off. Take it off. Placate for the head of the line. Get the brain break for the client on your mind. Tube tops, tube bottoms, tube socks, two columns. Solutions to a non-problem. Could it be the brainwash? 4x My time alone is fading into the light, Exchange affection for unlimited right, oh, Make your brain a game of keepaway, Then take it off. Take it off. Ain’t broke but it’s fixin’ to be, Breathe smoke, say “stick it to me,” Tube tops, tube bottoms, tube socks, two columns. Solutions to a non-problem. Could it be the brainwash? 4x Tube tops, tube bottoms, tube socks, two columns. Solutions to a non-problem. Could it be the brainwash? 4x

Slightly Green The right one, the right time to let it out. To feel fine, too near blind to define. Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-check the hold out, The colour code’s wrong, Distort the sunset, So you got your own one. With eyes so slightly green, The violent light, the only kind you’ve ever seen. You know you seemed so clean. Oh, window makes a promise, polite and honest, It breaks. Scattered in a lake. A lake of polyps, garnet and onyx and jade. T-T-T-T-T-Take the roll off, The coda runs long, Get the tone wrong, Go write your own song. With eyes so slightly green, The violent light, the only kind you’ve ever seen. You know you seemed so clean. With eyes so slightly green, The violent light, the only kind you’ve ever seen. You know you seemed so clean and, Unoriginal. And neither one’s on me, on me. With eyes so slightly green on me, on me.

I think it's time that you and I should get caught up. It's been a while, it's not my style to leave things up in the air. I don't know why I let this loose end go untied. We never saw eye to eye. I can see you running... Out in the field. I can see you running... Can't let it be. I can see you running... Iin the distance honey. I can see you running... Away from me. Run run run run..... I'm gaining ground, fox and the hound. Isn't this fun? If it's true grit, you know I'm it. You'd better run far away. I don't know why I let this loose end go untied. We'll make amends by and by. I can see you running... Out in the field. I can see you running... Can't let it be. I can see you running... Iin the distance honey. I can see you running... Away from me. I can see you running... Out in the field. I can see you running... Can't let it be. I can see you running... I'm getting closer now. I can see you running... Away from me.

Where I Put My Hands She pinned the seams up close to me, She held the needles in her teeth, Pins and needles in her teeth. Close to me. We’re on a schedule, I’d really help her out. But she drew blood, She drew blood. She drew blood, She drew blood. And where, Where I put my hands, I put my hands. And where, Where’s safe to point my eyes, Along her side, She’s working. On any dais I work for free, I work for free. Make and mending soulless clothes to be Close to me. But she drew blood, She drew blood. She drew blood, She drew blood. Am I fit for a dress, She thinks I am, She said she thinks, That I’m fast, I’m impressed, By the steel between her Teeth. And where, Where I put my hands, I put my hands. And where, Where’s safe to point my eyes, I’m on her side, And where, Where I put my hands, I put my hands. Along her side, Keep ‘em to myself, Keep ‘em to myself, Keep ‘em to myself, Keep ‘em to my.

Regulator 03:40
Regulator I fell between the fibers of a very fine weave. The gravity to fire this particular me. A feather for a flyer a confederacy. You’re not aligning with the energy thief, You’re not abiding by the energy thief, your Regulator, Kill to take control, You’re a regulator all your own. Send a wire to the man in the dark. Set fire to the haploid patriarch. The weather an appendage, a commander in chief. You’re not aligning with the energy thief, You’re not abiding by the energy thief, your Regulator, Kill to take control, You’re a regulator, you don’t have the space to know. You can fight the fight itself, You can’t afford the fee. You’re a regulator, not for me. Fell in love with a night on the town. Streetlight where the bright star let me down. Maybe I’ll surrender but the feeling is brief. You’re not aligning with the energy thief, You’re not abiding by the energy thief, your Regulator, Kill to take control, You’re a regulator, you don’t have the space to know. You can fight the fight itself, You can’t afford the fee. You’re a regulator, not for me. Regulator, not for me. Regulator, not for me.

Mud Huts 03:28
Mud Huts I hired your dad to do a painting of a photograph I took, Of a lighthouse, bears the switch, an angry sea. Unruly rocks to discipline, the keeper’s warned to keep within, But there’s a figure in my painting in between. So watch out, little man. And I hang that painting in my mud room, Where that man’s about to die in oils, Forever where my home receives its guests. Where I dress to meet you, Up against the wall, for Whatever disaster, it’s the Only time you call. But I never want to tell you you have beautiful eyes, Even I have beautiful eyes. It’s never calm on your horizon, trepidation to your sighs. But your eyes are all the come to mind. Your boring eyes. Have they heard of infrastructure? Would their skyscrapers collapse, Where they were built to test the limits of the land? It’s abusive to the soil, stripped for artificial growth, Without the backing to stay turgid with our capital. Watch out, little man. I almost hope I fail prediction, it’s getting harder to rebuild, And they were due for good decisions, I would guess. All the homeless in Asia, with Bricks to be laid, but their, Bricks are all fired of such, Limited clay. But I never want to tell you you have beautiful eyes, Even I have beautiful eyes. It’s never calm on your horizon, trepidation to your sighs. But your eyes are all the come to mind. Your boring eyes, Boring eyes. But I never want to tell you you have beautiful eyes, Even I have beautiful eyes. It’s never calm on your horizon, trepidation to your sighs. But your eyes are all the come to mind. Your boring eyes.

Stranger Ray 05:16
Tell me is it safe to say that any day's in sight. It's bound to happen anyway as greys would fade to white. Well it's a strange array, the words we play in sleight. And maybe that's okay, if everything's alright. And we'll all feel better now... Well it seems the battle's won, there's nothing to condone. And if you come undone, I'm quite sure you're alone. And maybe that's no fun, you've got your wit to hone. There's nowhere left to run, I guess I best go home. And we'll all feel better now... Where is my soul? Decanted in a jar, And labeled on the wall. They're bringing out the lights. Pray slip by me. They're moving down the lines, What God can't see. And picking out the flaws. I've yet to draw the eye. You've found your skin, I've slipped between the cracks. Now settle in. They've given me a name. How does it fit? A number in a string. No seams to split. It doesn't mean a thing. If you fell free, And when it gets so bleak, There's remedy. You never look too far. Keep out of light. There's fun for everyone, Your lid's sealed tight. Decanted in a jar. And we'll all feel better now...

Slow Death Tone Your eyes to trace the skyline, But it doesn’t really track. The landmark trees have died, The plan was never coming back. You got the “slow death” tone, Watch the world go on without you. The stars enlarge and drift apart, The dwelling by the cliff, just like a home. As if I’ve never been here. Or if I could never leave. Water beats the wind here. You distinguish it from me. Taken home, where Nothing looks familiar. These ancient lives were sanitized, Could I have really been here? Bored into the stone, These pits and spikes have only grown, This distance can’t be overcome, We must be headed home. As if I’ve never been here. Or if I could never leave. Water beats the wind here. You distinguish it from me. Enjoy the signal show, The phantoms interact here. Hearts are beaten by receding skies, The darkened waves below. You got that slow death tone, You offer to distract her. Dive beneath the shining beach, Each person leaves alone. As if I’ve never been here. Or if I could never leave. Water beats the wind here. You distinguish it from me. As if I’ve never been here. Or if I could never leave. Water beats the wind here. You distinguish it from me.

Throw Your Phone Off A Bridge Throw your phone off of a bridge. Send it sailing to the open water. The river vista pulls, it might just jump out on its own. Physical overpass for crazy fodder. Who am I kidding? In your mind it’s already been done. A form of mind control, your mind is not controlling anyone. Be perfectly still. I never broke before, I think I prob’ly never will. Run the knife across your tongue. Sit there savouring the sweet remainder. The blade is razor fine, Can’t even feel the line. I can’t imagine you’re in any danger. Who are you kidding? In your mind it’s already been done. A form of mind control, the mind is not controlling anyone. Be perfectly still. I never broke before, I think I prob’ly never will. Throw yourself against a wall. You can’t remember if your screen still shatters. Your life’s a hologram, at least from where I am. Physical contact, or it doesn’t matter. Who are you kidding? In your mind it’s already been done. A former mind control, the mind is not controlling anyone. Be perfectly still. I never broke before, I think I prob’ly never will. Be perfectly still. I never broke before, I think I prob’ly never will.

E Song 03:42
E Song She’ll be fine. She’s never caught around the buildings with her murals on the side. Of the girl she left behind. Yeah, they’re supposed to be the girl she left behind. They shared a futon, it’s fine, she doesn’t really need space. Alone the hard nights. After everything, how could she say no this time? It was the wrong time. Could have really been sweet, Not under these sheets. She could have stayed. She’s always there to lift her up the next day. Day. But in the wrong way. When he left, he left his sense and said he’d never looked down. He left a legend, yeah, he thought he’d left it all over town. But I can tell he’s going down. If she’d believed in all the vows they’d made for peace of mind, She’d deserve to hit the highway, deaf rapport on her side. I hear they made her leave her wardrobe behind. I guess she’s naked at heart, I guess she made it to the coast, Unwelcome on a stranger’s couch, She’s welcome under the stars. She’s welcome under the stars. I guess she’s hollow inside, I guess I lost her, Guess I followed her for nothing and I’m stuck where she abandoned her car. I guess she’s naked at heart. It was the wrong time. Could have really been sweet, Not under these sheets. She could have stayed. She’s always there to lift her up the next day. Day. But in the wrong way. I guess she’s hollow inside. She doesn’t want to be found. She doesn’t want me around, She’s welcome under the stars. She’s welcome under the stars. I guess she’s naked at heart.

In & Out 03:59
In and Out It sound's silly when you tell me we still need cream for the coffee when it's already sickly sweet. I can't sleep it's a perk of the caffeine, hail me a taxi and slip into the back seat. You look puzzled when I love you to pieces, wear sleeves on a gown and the weight of the town rolls by. Flag down and the counter increases, fair on the dash and a bobble-head Jesus. Slippin' in, In and Out Of lamplight, In and Out Of consciousness, In and Out Of love like this. It comes easy when you're eager to please me more than I've dreamt and the tank's running on empty. Unkempt, an attempt to appease me, better fill'er up comes a voice from on the C.B. Tuning in, In and Out Of wavelengths, In and Out Of frequencies, In and Out Reality... So don't fool yourself like everybody does, They say control yourself and you'd listen just because, You're like a butterfly who tries to hide away from prying eyes, Your disguise... A real pity that we're into the city too young in the night when the mood hasn't hit me quite, It's alright if you're trying to fix me, care for the hair of the dog that bit me. It's no wonder that you're pulling me underground to the sound of the beat that the kickdrum pounds, It gets round like the rumble of thunder, clouds overcrowd and the liquor man plunders. Breathing in, In and Out The toxins, In and Out The nicotine, In and Out What's left between, In and Out The good times, In and Out The hard lines, In and Out The vacancy, In and Out Reality... So don't fool yourself like everybody does, They say control yourself and you'd listen just because, You're like a butterfly who tries to hide away from prying eyes, Your disguise...

about

Kick Ptarmigan Parry Sound

Kick Ptarmigan, having recently devoured local greats the Spins, are set to record their third album this year. They play a unique hybrid of hair metal and doo-wop that sounds suspiciously like indie folk/rock.

Comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Violent Femmes and the Barenaked Ladies have been met with confused stares.
